This Privacy Policy explains how Hue ("Hue," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the Hue mobile application and related services.

2. Age Requirements

Hue may be rated 9+ in some app stores for content suitability; however, Hue is intended for users age 13 and older (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below that age, and if we become aware that we have done so, we will delete such data promptly.

3. Data We Collect

Account Data

Email address and authentication data needed to create and access your account.

Mood & Journal Data

Mood emojis, notes, tags, time-of-day, people/place selections, and other content you choose to log.

Location Data (Optional)

Precise location (GPS) when you enable location and log moods. You can disable location and community sharing in Settings at any time.

Subscription Data

Subscription/entitlement status and purchase metadata from app store billing systems and RevenueCat.

App Preferences

Local settings such as notification preferences and display options stored on your device.

4. How We Use Data

Provide core app features (logging, history, insights, mood map, and account access).
Generate personalized insights and supportive messaging.
Operate subscriptions and premium access.
Send notifications if you opt in.
Maintain security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot service issues.

5. Community Map

Community map data is shown in aggregated and anonymized form from users who opt in to location sharing. We apply privacy thresholds before displaying area-level community mood information. Your personal entries remain visible to you in your own account.

6. Subscriptions & Payments

Purchases are processed by Apple App Store / Google Play. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription entitlements.

We do not receive or store your full credit card or billing details.
RevenueCat receives identifiers and transaction metadata needed for subscription status.

7. AI Processing

We may use third-party AI providers (including Anthropic) to generate features like personalized insight text.

We send only data needed to provide the feature (for example, mood patterns/tags and selected note context).
We do not intentionally send your email address for AI quote generation.
AI output may be imperfect and is for wellbeing reflection, not medical or mental health diagnosis.

8. How We Share Data

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers needed to run Hue, such as:

Backend/database infrastructure providers
Subscription platform provider (RevenueCat)
AI provider(s) for insight generation (for enabled features)
Platform providers (Apple/Google) for purchases and notification delivery

9. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can request account deletion in app settings. After deletion, we remove or de-identify personal data from active systems, subject to limited retention required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or backup recovery purposes.

10. Your Choices & Rights

Access and edit mood content in the app.
Export your data through available app settings/features.
Delete your account and associated data from settings.
Control permissions (location, notifications) through device/app settings.

11. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect your data. No system is 100% secure, but we continuously work to reduce risk and protect user information.

12. International Use

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, where our providers operate. We take steps intended to ensure appropriate protections are in place where required.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page and reflected by the "Last Updated" date.
